If Bush is washed-up and the GOP agrees, then they would be much-much better off to replace him with a McCain type. The democrats would not want that because McCain would help erase the memory of how corrupt, inept and unfair Bush had been.

Cheney though has to go. On Hardball just now, two top CIA operatives just confirmed that the VP's office was the big pusher of false intel on the American people and congress. So Cheney may be the #1 catalyst for both the disasterous war and the outrageous energy gouging.
