Saudis + Kuwaitis + Texas Oil Cos + Refiners DO control the price of oil, and you if you think any different you're very naive. Also, the consolidation of the oil business has erased any and all competition except maybe with iran or Venezuela. I saw it coming and heard about it at the Houston cocktail parties in 2000. With two oilmen on the ticket, the fix was in. If Bush-Cheney could win, they were going to ram it up our you-know-whats and gouge with impunity. And they started the day after Bush-Cheney were nomionated at the GOP convention. Cheney especially is the key here, as the Halliburton CEO organized a "Energy task Force" made up of all the greatest gougers and cheats, including himself. Halliburton has ripped off billions in Iraq.
