Well, you hardly ever make sense, but you are right, for once...

In the first four months of 2006, we have seen: (1) new record high (nominal) oil prices; (2) declining US petroleum imports; (3) falling world oil production and (4) in today's NYT, a headline saying "Energy Crisis."
(He didn't mention increased world demand which I'll call number 5.).

Now #1 couldn't be a result of 2 and 3 and 5, could it? Nah, of course not. That's just straight supply and demand economics,and that makes too much sense :>)

Too scary to contemplate, too, so we will blame it on greed. At least we can score political points.
