JF, The oil companies are the second most tax subsidized industry in the country. Drop the subsidies, tax the devices that use excess energy, and subsidize the energy efficient devices. We'll also need to find a source of energy more potent and economical than oil. After hybrids, squeezing more efficiency out of oil is like squeezing blood out of a rock. Tenchusatsu
