The Russian offer is being hyped again today as a possible solution.

Well, I think I can handle this alternative solution more than just permitting the Iranians to enrich uranium without any inspections.

At least we can hold the Russians responsible if Iran is able to obtain weapons grade uranium capability.

Of course, Putin might not give a sh*t about what we think.

The Iranians have much to worry about in an economic clash with the US. Their economy teeters. Inflation is high and is being driven higher by the new prez.

I definitely concur.. Which is why I believe the Bush administration needs to take this dialogue PAST flinging nasty looks at Ahmadinejad and to talk with the Iranian people via whatever mechanism is possible (Internet.. International TV.. UN.. whatever).

The young people of Iran need to be inspired and motivated to see the madness of their current leadership and to take an active, but non-violent (Ghandi-like) stance against his regime.
