Wrong. Reagan destroyed Carter's huge solar program. We need to rebuild it times 100 regardless of the short-term cost and add tons of wind power too. In the long run that and many other efforts will free us from the tyranny of Big Oil gougers and terrorist-supporting Arab regimes.
