Z, Ergo, the system is broken.
As you very well know, every economic system is broken in some way or another. Communism and it's democratic equivalent of socialism is broken in that citizens will quickly learn to become less productive and more needy. Capitalism is broken in that wealth eventually gets gobbled up by the few, thereby crushing the efforts of the masses. Totalitarianism is broken in that "might makes right," even if it leads to self-destruction. And so on, and so forth.
I still love the quote from the movie "Enemy at the Gates," worth repeating:
I've been such a fool, Vassili. Man will always be a man. There is no new man. We tried so hard to create a society that was equal, where there'd be nothing to envy your neighbour. But there's always something to envy. A smile, a friendship, something you don't have and want to appropriate. In this world, even a Soviet one, there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts, poor in gifts. Rich in love, poor in love.
