I just watched Stephen Colbert before the White House Correspondents Association and Mr. Bush...

play.rbn.com

Oh man... took my breath away. It was like when I was a kid watching those images on TV of the Budists monk in Vietnam pouring the gasoline over himself and striking a match in a show of deep devotion to his beliefs about what America was doing to his country. You watch in awe at the depth of his conviction, and at the same time, you watch in horror screaming PLEASE STOP! There must be a way to get your voice heard without immolating yourself.

I admire Colbert for saying what he believed in right in front of Bush's face and in the faces of the Washington correspondents who enable the White House cabal by reporting mostly "the truth" as dictated by the Bushistas. But I wonder if he will survive his standup comedy routine... will he still be working in a week or month from now... or even worst...
