Al, That the US staunchily opposed UN initiatives on sanctions against Iraq is completely lost on you. For years France and other nations tried to relax selectively these sanctions to reduce the effect on civilians and particularly children, and for as many years the US vetoed and stimied the effort. What's the point of sanctions then, if you can't stick with them? With oppressive regimes, sanctions only hurt the innocent and empower the strongmen. Unfortunately U are not unlike the typical uninformed wingnut...sad frankly that you run around with these un-facts in your head. LOL, that's one of many reasons why your side is losing the debate.
