Gould is a blast from the past, I recall the name but cannot recall from where.

Definitely LG's thread. I do not think I ever posted on Kahuna. What ever happened to LG anyway? Go over to Raging Bull? He rarely posts anymore.

He had good market/timing sense.

Concerning the Silver ETF, I'd have to think that Funds drove Silver quite a lot. I don't recall how the Open Interest was going, so that's a guess. But again, you couple the ETF with demand due to Energy and world tensions....throw in the spiraling (there's that word again) U.S. trade deficits and debt....then add in the technical breakthroughs in price and you end up with that huge spike. It's most noticeable in a weekly chart.

Short running had to be a big factor. Once it climbed into the 5 digit zone the Short Side must have imploded.

Certainly was unsustainable. It's sister metal, Copper, had to be a factor as well. Glad I don't need any extension cords, between the copper and the energy needed to make the insulation they must be up three-fold in price. Guys in hardware stores have to be changing prices each week on much of the inventory.

But all in all the ETF should add a floor, some sort of support to the metal. If it gets through $15 with any power I have no idea where it could run.
