The democrat leadership has indicate a desire to punish the Administration for winning elections by pursuing endless investigations for invented and or imagined crimes. Just look at the Plame kafuffle if you want see a miscarriage of justice. A partisan hack sent her even more partisan hack hubby off on a plum assignment. The tried to pretend that she had been outed, and the Press Corpse spent months advancing the theory. Scooter Libby ended up the casualty of their lies, and he is still being harassed even after the fiction is proven wrong. If they get any power, they will abuse it immediately and without end. This is consistent with their culture of corruption. "I'm convinced we would suffer another Sept 11 type disaster if the Dems gain control of the U.S. Senate or House." You are probably right about that. After they waste resources on a partisan witch hunt, they will lose sight of the real goal of protecting our country and citizens.
