Cyprian, if you are having difficulty presenting the official Holy Orthodox view, are you not at risk of holding a position that may be independent of theirs?
I don't think it is too difficult for me to present the Orthodox viewpoint.
What I am having a hard time with is trying to understand exactly what it is you want from me. If you have a specific question you want answered, by all means ask. If you want me to compose an entire treatise on the Orthodox interpretation of eschatology, I'm not sure I will be able to oblige. I know you asked me specifically about "Total Replacement Doctrine", but that is some sort of theological label I suspect Protestants came up with, which I am not all that familiar with.
If you know all about "Total Replacement", then you should be able to list one by one the tenets of this scheme of thought, and then I will gladly address each and every point in the context of Orthodox understanding.
Don't ask me to define it for you and then explain how it is or is not in accordance with Orthodox teaching, but rather, tell me what your understanding of it is, and then I will be able to satisfy your question properly.
I've actually posted hundreds of messages on SI addressing the Orthodox understanding of the modern nation state "Israel" and Judaism.
I have already told you that the Orthodox do not consider unbelieving Jews to be the recipients of any particular sort of favortism or preference above others.
If one wants to be the apple of God's eye, they must call upon the name of His Son Jesus Christ.
To the extent that the unbelieving Jews do not this, rather seeking to establish their own righteousness apart from Jesus Christ, they are children of the devil. |
