At the individual level, RT won't ever be free. But I believe Delayed should be on the site level, not only to the users but to the site itself when the site is giving the quotes provider such great exposure.

"Not quite free, but darn close" sure sounds good on realtime. And what sounds even better, and that I'm pursuing, is that if someone encounters a company's delayed offering here and decides to upgrade to realtime and a deeper featureset, we should get some of that money.

We have two offers of exactly that. And I'll be asking all the providers I can think of if they're willing, including MedVed, then will compare them based on featuresets and, of course, how much kickback I can expect from users upgrading.

When we first set out to add quotes back into the site, the "problem" was that the providers didn't necessarily know of our sites (especially iHub, which has the far greater traffic) and we needed about 2 million quotes per month between the quotes page and board pages combined. Now our appetite is closer to 5 million per month.

What I'd been looking for was a company who wouldn't see that as 5 million hits to their servers but, instead, 5 million exposures of their product to exactly their target market. And have found 2 so far who see it that way.
