I heard MacArthur Park today and finally figured out what it meant.. It is Mother Nature lamenting the fact that someone "left the planet out in the rain", the "cake", man, to SPOIL..

The ice caps are melting... the frosting, man.. And the recipe is lost for a new one. Who could reproduce us, who could clone OUR BELOVED Earth?..
