If he resigns the chance of charges being brought against him are even greater. I've thought about it and I think junior would go as far as seeing if he could convince the generals to back with the military him against the courts or congress. He thinks such things are part of the rights the president, or at least he has people who are willing to tell him they are. It may get nasty after the upcoming election. I don't know. The uproar continues to grow. And we know that to some extent the military doesn't really care for Bush. I think he's slowly and surely getting boxed into a corner. Time will tell.
