In 2000, there were 4.2 million people 85 or older, up from 3.1 million a decade earlier. Their ranks are expected to grow to 6.1 million by 2010, according to the Census Bureau. I'm surprised that there was no mention of the fact that these senior entitlement programs are entirely underfunded.. Message 22407753
