Enron and Bush-Cheney were very closely allied. Very closely. It is the only time in history a corporation has given a single politician over a million dollars, I believe. Also the first time a corporation has let a campaign use its private jets, office space and anything else it wants. Enron even hired Bush's religious right organizer Ralph Reed as a "energy consultant" for 150 K leading up to the 2000 election.

In repayment, Bush-Cheney all but publicly approved of the massive Enron-led gouging of the west coast in 2000-2001, which incidently started the day Bush-Chenedy were nominated and ended the day Jeffords switched parties to give DEms subpoena powers to look into Cheney's corrupt Energy Task Force. In short, Enron and Bush-Cheney are part of the same problem.
