No, Kerry was never for this war. That's a lie. Look at Kerry's statements. They have been very clear since day one. War was to be only a last resort if we really HAD TO go to war, and then only if we're very well prepared and have the UN and many allies behind us, a Gulf War type global coalition. Kerry never supported the war. He spoke out against it five days after the invasion and took a lot of heat for that from Republicans who said he was "betraying the troops". Voting for forced disarmament of Saddam (only if necessary as a last resort) is not the same as voting to invade and occupy Iraq without the UN or significant allies. Kerry was also very critical of Bush's lack of pre-war prep since the beginning, and he was furious Bush let Osama get away at Tora Bora.
