It's ALSO not a good idea to have government FAVOR certain industries to the detriment of others.

Brazil is energy self-sufficient due to their encouraging and supporting ethanol85 as an alternative fuel. The U.S. could accomplish the same thing in 10 years if the oil industry didn't have such tremendous leverage with our government, especially the last 5 years.

The government's $800 billion drug prescription plan wouldn't be necessary if our Medicare System was actually allowed to do what major consumers are usually allowed to do in a capitalist system---NEGOTIATE!!!! But our politicians won't allow negotiating with the pharmaceutical companies, because thoise companies are MAJOR campaign contributors and have to be protected from capitalism.
