They'll just blame that on the "evil oil companies" as well and push for a "windfall tax."

At least said taxes will encourage more carpooling, less SUVs, etc. But then they'll just move to a tax on mileage because the gas tax revenue won't be able to pay for their programs.

Giving billions in tax breaks to companies who produce billions in profits, and who have NO incentive to develop alternative energy is good policy. I hope the GOP continues to promote it, while at the same time proposing to give people a $100 tax rebate. These policies do wonders for progress.
