Big Oil has been intentionally minimizing refinery capacity to create artificial shortages, then blame it on environmentalists for not wanting polluting refineries in their backyards. Here in California, big oil has been trying to shut down a Shell refinery near Sacramento to reduce competition and supply. I don't know what happened there, but it proves that they say one thing, then do another. They simply cannot be trusted in any way, shape or form. We need to re-regulate the entire energy sector. And hold people like Dick Cheney accountable. Plus massive windfall profits taxes are in order. Then use that money to build a huge new clean fuels program.
