Hello? He said the people (not the government) should own the resources of the country. That's a little simple - WHICH PEOPLE? You agree wholeheartedly that some people should own the resources - well which ones???? It's a bit more complicated than that. For example if Cambodia, with average annual income per person of $200 per year, discovers a $50 billion value oil well on Tuk Tuk's farm, you can bet your bottom Tuk Tuk doesn't get it, and the Cambodian government does.

And we were discussing developing nations. In many developing nations the government owns the oil/gas/minerals/whatever, and a small elite group controls the government. I'm not saying that's how it should be, just that's the way it is.
