It is, in fact, layer upon layer of beliefs, using one belief as the "solid" foundation for the next belief.

Biblical faith is not built on circular logic. If that is all there were to it, the Bible would be invalid. Contrary to your assertions, the Gospel's claim is provable. I, for one, have experienced the living Jesus Christ personally with the effect of having the peace of God for the forgiveness of all my sins as well as the removal of the power they held in my life: a fact that can be testified to by those who have known me in my life; both before my conversion and now.

This Biblical effect is common to those who repent and put their trust in Him as the Gospel of the Bible declares and it spans the millennia and every culture on earth where it has been preached.

It becomes a multi-layered, interrelated system where each belief is dependent on other beliefs, and admission of one false belief is impossible, because it could degrade the strength of the entire latticework.

If that were true then Paul would have never had the boldness to say what he did in 1 Corinthians 15:14 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."

So, this pinpoints the issue on which Christianity is built upon: Was Jesus Christ raised bodily from the dead or not? The answer to that affects everyone on earth. If he isn't, then death is indeed final for everyone. If he is raised according to the Scriptures, then it shows that death is not the end of our existence and it presents a solid hope for mankind.
