LBJ and Nixon were to blame for Vietnam. Kennedy was not. Kennedy never would have escalated, especially based on a bunch of lies. In fact, Kennedy was "winning" that war by cleverly using Green Berets to organize hills tribesmen to keep the North Vietnamese out.

Now, many people (including me) say that both Kennedys were murdered because they wanted to end the Vietnam War. There were other reasons, like the fact they wanted to bounce J. Edgar Hooover, but it was the mega-hawks and rightwing autocrats who killed them. Only ones who could have pulled it off. Martin Luther King too. MLK was a threat to their war.

Yes, LBJ had some good sides to him but he also had a dark side. Escalating that war was wrong and evil. Plus, he was much too closely allied to a certain company Brown + Root which profited from war. It is now known as Halliburton.
