If you want to be force fed spirituality to get a handout, I imagine you can get some help, in some areas. I'm not seeing that as the kind of comprehensive assistance we need to really elevate the health of most poor women and children. These programs are limited in what they can do, and patchy in their coverage, and (for me) they are unsavory because I don't like to see anyone messed with religiously in order to get health benefits. I'm all for people being spiritual if they want to be, but bribing them with something necessary, like food and health services, just creeps me out.

Abortion obviously isn't going to be an "option" allowed to these women- heck I don't even know if birth control is (probably not. Mother Mary no doubt wouldn't approve of that kind of health benefit. And therein lies the problem...)

You could argue that poor women deserve what they get, and that they should be willing to take any health care no matter how officious and how limited as the penalty of their poverty. I'm not going to agree with that, but that line of thinking certainly fits with services like this.
