Yes. Excellent point, truly superb, Tom! Socialist activism began creeping into the US from Europe in the late 1800s and took full flower in the 1920s. Social fascism invaded the USA with Roosevelt. Later the socialist communists had battles in the US with the socialist-fascists. It didn't help that after WWII Operation Paperclip imported over 11,000 Nazi bureaucrats into the US either. Taking all this into consideration, and how these Statist forces undermined our individuaL liberties, infiltrated our institutions, educational system and media, is it any wonder the average American is so screwed up and our country in a philosophical turmoil? I leave you with this answer from a major research poll conducted several years ago among senior high school students: Q. What is the purpose of the government? Of the four possible answers, over 70% chose: "To tell us what to do."
