It's possible that you (yourself) may operate in life from that viewpoint, but I can assure you that your viewpoint is not only not a fact, it isn't shared by most other people. In fact, many people consider serving others to be one of the most noble things a human being can do, and they serve others happily.

You may feel that way, I don't. I don't "serve" others. I may provide them with my services if I so choose. Often it is because there is an exchange of services or a transaction of some type. You are implying that to give yourself selflessly to others is a noble deed. I think it is despicable. Rational selfishness is a virtue.
The notion that we should be subservient to others is responsible for the mess we are in. Only individuals who are radically selfish(without actively hurting others or violating their basic rights) accomplish great things. The greatest minds in the history of mankind accomplished what they did by unrelentingly pursuing their goals and not by "nobly" serving others.
