You may perceive it as unfair. I suggest that one party with a recent history of nominating far out of the mainstream candidates would govern the federal government as inefficiently as they govern the cities they control. Why would Democrats in power behave significantly differently than they do now?

Absent information to the contrary, one assumes that trends will be continued.
