rose~

i had to dig out my winter hat today.
we didn't even hit 48 degrees - brrrrrr.

really?!
that does seem pretty brrrrrr for out there at this time of the year!

we've had a warm, dry spring out here in eastern Ontario.
the past couple of days have been in the low 70s
but it seems even warmer than that.

i'd have to say that the foliage may be close to 2 weeks early.
yesterday, the cherry and pear tree blossoms were all open.
seems waaaay too early for them as we can get hard frosts until
late May, and that would nix any chance of fruit for this year.

still, it is nice to see things looking more like summer.
and there are already *lots* of insects for me to photograph!!
(important stuff!)

the summery weather has got me switched over to
cooking summer time meals...
plenty of salads and pita sandwiches full of vegetables.

yesterday, i worked in the vegetable garden
getting it ready to plant seeds.
(guess that means we'll be here for at least one more summer...
but that's okay).
