Please allow me to apply your phrase "exhorbitant and outrageous" to the taxes government already takes from the oil business. The taxes that the Govt. takes from "the oil business" and not from the "oil companies" is passed onto the consumer. I am talking about taxing the profits of the oil companies with something like a "windfall profits" tax. Besides they should be allowed to take a writeoff to the extent they spend on alternative energy research. This country needs to free itself from the dependence of Middle East oil. That is what I consider a true "terrorist" like threat. High oil prices kills all of us, in somewhat of a different way. If you do not see the light here then I am going to stop right here.
