Taken from the article you posted:

Mr President,
September Eleven was a horrendous incident. The killing of innocents is deplorable and appalling in any part of the world. Our government immediately declared its disgust with the perpetrators and offered its condolences to the bereaved and expressed its sympathies.

My comments:
Apparently, the Iranian president missed the coverage on Aljazeera of children and adults dancing in the streets of Tehran, Bagdhad and Tripoli and Palestine. Apparently, he did not see the many adults passing out candy to children as if 9/11 was a newly declared Muslim holiday.

His definition of what happened might have more appeal if he labeled it more honestly. It was not a "bad or awful event". It was an enormous homicidal and disastrous event of great significance.

He uses strong language in his criticism of the US and weak terminology in describing 9/11. Not surprising though, coming from one who has repeatedly said that Israel must be destroyed.
