What's wrong with partly nationalizing or strictly regulating our oil/energy industry considering how much of a national defense issue energy is? Why leave it all in the hands of CEO's whose only real motive is to squeeze out maximum profits and gouge consumers?

Since when did corporate bodies become sancrosanct? Most countries have nationalized health care and energy to some extent. In fact, Bushies defending Exxon admit that the prime competition (if they are indeed competing at all and not colluding) is from national oil companies.

Even a partly nationalized oil industry could still find a way to reward stockholders, like utilities do.

One thing I know, these energy companies under Bush-Cheney have totally lied, cheated, exploited and gouged, so they don't deserve to be allowed to do whatever they want anymore. They have betrayed our trust.
