Many on this thread have a long history of posting to Hawkmoon, who (I believe) was away for a while. He used to be a reasonable person when I interacted with him in the past, so I assume he was using intemperate language because he did not realize that you were making an effort to keep conversation civil. Civility is a worthy goal, for which I applaud your efforts. I wonder if you might consider making Hawkmoon's departure temporary? If he's amenable to such treatment. If he acts like a jerk, make it permanent.
