Barrington says the cost per extra year of life gained is less than that found in just about any other area of acute care medicine.

Interesting.. but I would still be at a loss as to what manner of technology would cause such treatment to amount to 100K for 3-4 months care. That's 25K/month, or about 1k per day.

Again.. I truly feel for the parents of those children.. That's a tremendous financial burden..

And if they can't afford health insurance, then indigency or bankruptcy awaits them.
