That was one reason for the short link I gave you this morning regarding how to spot bias. It is sometimes very subtle.

That tendency to nitpick isn't reserved for the political extremes either. I've seen plenty of nitpicking on this thread
by people who espouse the centrist view.<g> While it is more
often directed to the shades of meaning attached to a given
argument, there is little functional difference, imo.

Perhaps it's just a human thing that tends to bubble up more often when communication is limited to the written word, without additional verbal or visual clues.
