I would not have thought French would have many differences with English- although the French do love rhetoric, and I find their points generally much more elegantly argued than points in American essays. Now Spanish seems quite different, having some of the "floral" characteristics of ME writing. My daughter is now fluent in Spanish and she often points out some of the more blatant examples of differences that she sees.
