We know it is not a Republic. It is however devolving into a kleptocracy. Only when we return to the path towards honest, civility and moralism will the constant fear of our impending failure seem remote.

Peter, a return to 'moralism' would mean a return to the cave. Do never put trust in your brethren to somehow 'become moral'. There are two competing worlds we are entangled with - the world of the physical and the world of the imagination.

If we are to survive, then 'justice' - what is right and true - must be reflected in 'physical' structures...in the institutions of law. The law, of course, must be rational and not some concoction or sacrifice to the mob. It is only rational law where the formative individual can develop morality. Morality is not blind but an never-ending active and conscious effort in the minds of individual men.
