Relative to posts on THE COWBOYS AND THE YANKEES, what do these two groups have in common? A preoccupation with MONEY(by itself) and POWER (as a means towards MONEY) Simply stated: GREED So in answer to the query: "What RUNS America?", my answer would be GREED. WHO runs America? The COWBOYS and the YANKEES with the POLITICIANS as their proxies and hired hands. THE MECHANISM for doing it? THE LOBBYING SYSTEM combined with Corporate control of NEWS MEDIA. THE FUEL for the Lobbying System? MONEY (onshore and most probably more OFFSHORE) RECENT HIGH-TECH TOOLS: VOTING MACHINES with backdoors and their keys operated by (at this time) the GOP, but quite possibly just by the party in power at the present. (Otherwise how do you explain the somnolence of the Democrats regarding these issues???) So, Yes, it is nice to speculate as to who might be the next President. Do I think Al Gore would make a better President than the Komander? Of course. Do I think Al Gore can remake the system? NOT A CHANCE. If he became enough of a threat he would get the WELLSTONE/ROBERT KENNEDY/JFK/MALCOLM X/MARTIN LUTHER KING TREATMENT. Namaste! Jim
