Fascinating (and thoroughly neutral-seeming) analysis.

I have a couple of quibbles - they seem to exclude any other actors, such as maybe Turkey, and other Sunni states; and also (in their Shia section) do not seem to recognise the apparent distinctions between the local militia in ethnically mixed areas like Baghdad, as distinct from the more uniform southern (?more Iran-influenced?) Shia.

And also, they seem to discount the apparent determintion of the US to leave permanent bases on Iraqi soil, replacing the Arabian ones - unless these are now being disassembled, but last I read there was a lot of effort and resource going to reinforce these, so they didn't look like temporary structures.

But nice find, still.
