The problem is that the enthusiast market knows about Conroe performance, even though it won't be here for another couple months. Virtually all the gamer kiddies are waiting for Conroe at this point, rather than planning to move to AM2, because they've seen sample benches for each. AMD needs to give them a reason to go with the AM2 platform, and if all they have is a future upgrade, they need to start selling that now.
