Here is my statement:

On the other hand, cutting rates on investment income, as the congress is in the process of doing at the moment, certainly does little for anyone but the very wealthy.

It's a big deal for the very wealthy, and it does "very little" for those with a few stocks in mutual funds.

And frankly it does NOTHING for the other 50% except raise their relative tax burden.

If you want to pass a tax cut (which is the last thing we need right now) why not pass it for everyone... or even pass it targeted at the folks that are struggling to make ends meet, find an affordable place to live, get health insurance? Why, at this point in time, pass a tax break where the vast majority of dollars goes to the very wealthy?
