The individuals who will decide the dumping case are fairly well insulated from the big picture policy makers who might oppose the duties. The Commerce Department has imposed dumping duties many times in the face of a general free trade slant from US policymakers. Since writing my message, I noticed on the Motley Fool thread that one person reports the projected decision date as September 23. If favorable, this could put strong upward pressure on domestic SRAM prices. When Micron won its DRAM dumping case several years ago, domestic DRAM prices firmed and I think Micron's stock price more than quadrupled. I do not know of any Wall Street analyst who is giving this issue any attention.
