About Sonae.com :

Created in 1994, Sonaecom adopted its current corporate name in 1999. Sonaecom is the sub-holding of the Sonae Group for the area of Telecommunications, Internet and Multimedia. The company plays an active role in the integrated management of the several business units that compose it, identifying and building on existing synergies and the company’s growth potential.

The company operates in four main business areas: Mobile Communications (Optimus); Fixed Communications (Novis); Multimedia and Internet (Público and Clix); and Software and Information Systems (Enabler, WeDo, Bizdirect and Mainroad).

Sonaecom’s main goal is simple and ambitious: to become the leader in the supply of integrated telecom services in Portugal.

From the day it was created until today, Sonaecom has been surprising the market with significant operating gains, a result of the continuous improvement in terms of global performance and of the capacity to build on existing synergies between its several subsidiaries. Today Sonaecom has proved to be a profitable, solid and self-sustained project.

The achieved performance is the result of the company’s strategy of total focus on the Customer, constantly aiming at creating new business opportunities, which translate into the creation of innovative proposals tailored to the specific needs of each Customer. The result of that strategy has been reflected in the marketplace and, at the same time, it has been objectively recognised by the Industry.

Sonaecom’s positioning as an integrated supplier of Telecommunications, Multimedia and Internet allows for the existence of important commercial synergies between the several companies held by the group, creating opportunities for cross sales, and generating added value for the Customer.

The success of the implementation of such strategy results from the commitment, professionalism and creativity of a young and dynamic team, capable of facing change as a permanent process of opportunities to innovate and differentiate.

Sonaecom is currently one of the main communications traffic generators in Portugal. Its strategy of having its own national telecom infrastructure was born from the inherent need to guarantee the reliability and quality of its network, minimizing costs associated to traffic management.

Sonaecom has been posting significant growth in its business areas, creating added value for Customers by investing in the overall improvement of its profitability index – achieved due to the implementation of restrictive cost control measures and demanding patterns regarding systems and processes. At the same time, Sonaecom has assumed a role of active intervention in society. Aware of its responsibility in the creation of a sustainable future, the company has been implementing a series of environmental and social actions, both internally and externally, to strengthen its growing concern for good practices.
