benjamin franklin is without question one of my favorite 'founding fathers' my question would be however.. when he stated this: “Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” i have to wonder if he ever had foreseen the extreme vulnerability to a nation that would come from a digital age and the ability of individuals to use technology as weapons of mass destruction....ie, airplanes... at any rate, even if he did, (which i doubt) just because he said it, a man whom i greatly admire and respect, doesn't make it right think about it... we give up a 'little freedom' every time we board an airplane...with good cause....and would be suicidal and foolish not to
