What is "social conscience?" Who defines it? ...Educate me. :)

In principle, a corporate representative is under social contract to serve the interests of their constituencies even when it may conflict with material interests of their own. It is an act of corruption to do otherwise and may be quantified to the extent that such conduct lessens the interests of the represented.

Those being represented have in essence lent their trust to the representative and this trust is the basis of the social contract. Consequently we should focus on any breach of this trust relationship as a violation of the social contract.

Generally corruption flourishes when conditions are favorable for corporate representatives to serve their own interests rather than perform their duty to serve the interests of their constituencies.

The trust is breached, if it influences the representative to do anything other that represent the best interests of the representative's constituencies.
