Mendacity, falsehood, deceit and deception! The science of statistics and the media broad brush

Pakistan just does not fit the criterion!
My friend JD summed it up very poignantly when he wrote to me,"Pakistan was told after 1998 that it was a failed or failing state because it didn’t have money to buy its imports for more than a few weeks."- and the KSE was under 1000 most of that year...
"When we were 34th last year..."- and the KSE was in the 8000+ range..."...and (this year) has placed Pakistan ninth in the top 10 failed states..."- and the KSE is in the upper 11,000's...Gee Ike, I sure wish my portfolio was 'failing' as bad, ggg.....
Repulsive delusional report on geopolitics of failed ‘NATIONS’ by FP is extracted from media reports. Using 12 social, economic, political, and military indicators, they have ranked 60 states in order of their vulnerability to violent internal conflict. Pakistan just does not fit the criterion! Foreign Policy and the Fund for Peace, an independent research organization, have conducted a global ranking of weak and failing states. (For each indicator, the Fund for Peace computed scores using software that analyzed data from tens of thousands of international and local media sources from the last half of 2004.) Phony and sketchy information from respectable institutes can result in great injustice for nations that are unjustifiably targeted as failed states.
