Talking about the TI TMS320C6x (DSP) chip

Texas Instrument's stated goal is to have it ready at production levels by Oct 9. That is a very tight and ambitious schedule. Things are reported to be on track, but I will still be very surprised to see them make that date. On projects of this size, delays are simply inevitable and when they occur at the tail end of the year, it means that they then extend (Xmas and all that) into next year.

Amati and USRX are both pinning big hopes on having this chip available ASAP. For Amati it is doubly important, because they don't have a 2nd generation chip (their current modems Overture, use an LSI chip which has a high rate of power comsumption), and the Motorola chip is just endlessly (15 months late) delayed. So they are really counting on the TI chip. Although they still could use the ADI chip.

So let's see if TI can actually deliver on time.
