One other difference between a naked put and owning the stock that should be mentioned: with a naked put, there is a deadline. In your case, the put expires in March and you will be forced to take the loss, if there is one. When one owns the stock, one can hold on for five years if necessary to get back even or ahead. You are never forced to take the loss.
