All I know is that Dell has problems for the first time since its notebook disaster 14 years ago or so. Staying 100% Intel is not going to work anymore. They have to be losing customers because of it. Not everyone is going to want to go with Woodcrest and FB-Dimms. Dell is in control and not Intel. Intel is just another supplier. Dell may lose some of Intel's marketing money, but it will be less then what it will lose when customers go to a competitor.

And there is no way Intel can retaliate without pushing Dell closer to AMD. Dell needs to embrace AMD. Whether they will is another story.
