I've heard of it for years. I'm not sure there is actually an accepted genre, but there sure is cowboy poetry.

I've posted some of Paul Croy's poems to you in the past. He wasn't a cowboy, but his poetry rings true to me.

My favorite poems might be called doggerel by genuine poets, but I really don't care.
